Administrative NewsWednesday, September 24, 2025
On 24 September 2024, the Finnish Tax Administration announced that it will send e-invoice (e-lasku) proposals to around 200,000 personal customers of OP Financial Group during September–October.
The proposal is sent to OP customers who:
• pay real estate tax in 2024,
• have reported an OP account number to the Tax Administration, and
• do not yet have a valid e-invoice agreement in place.
The e-invoice proposal appears directly in the customer’s OP mobile or online banking service. Customers are notified by OP’s digital assistant and can accept the proposal easily via chat or through the e-invoice proposals section in op.fi. The proposal remains available for 30 days, after which it expires automatically if not accepted.
Taxes covered by the e-invoice
Once accepted, the e-invoice will be used for future payments of:
• real estate tax
• advance tax
• residual tax
• inheritance tax
• gift tax
For taxes due in October 2024, such as residual tax or real estate tax, the e-invoice may no longer arrive in time. However, accepting the proposal will ensure e-invoices are used for future tax payments.
Purpose and security of the e-invoice proposal
The Tax Administration emphasises that the e-invoice proposal is genuine and secure. Authentic proposals appear only in online or mobile banking services. The Tax Administration does not send e-invoice proposals by text message, nor do its messages contain login links.
E-invoices help prevent missed payments, as they include all required payment details—amount, account number, reference number, and due date—and are delivered well before the payment deadline. Late-paid taxes accrue late-payment interest starting immediately after the due date.
Availability for other taxpayers
E-invoices can be ordered at any time by customers of other banks as well, either through their own online banking service or via MyTax (OmaVero). To ensure timely delivery, the e-invoice should be ordered at least two weeks before the tax due date.
