Finland lowered the reduced 14% VAT rate to 13.5% from 1 January 2026, affecting food, medicines, books, transport, accommodation, and several other goods and services.

Consulting Services Invoiced to Switzerland May Be Supplied Without Finnish VAT

According to a VEROT article published by Taloustaito, consulting services invoiced by a Finnish company to a Swiss non-profit organisation may be supplied without Finnish VAT. Regardless of whether the customer is treated as a taxable person, Finnish VAT is not chargeable under the applicable place-of-supply rules.
