Finland Migrates Tax Communications to Suomi.fi Messaging Platform

Finland Migrates Tax Communications to Suomi.fi Messaging Platform
Administrative NewsFriday, April 10, 2026

The Finnish Tax Administration has implemented a comprehensive digital transformation of taxpayer communications, migrating all correspondence to electronic channels through the Suomi.fi messaging platform effective from April 14, 2026.

The reform affects all taxpayer categories including individuals, businesses, agricultural enterprises, associations, foundations, and estates. Taxpayers accessing the OmaVero online service portal now automatically receive Suomi.fi messaging capabilities, with all tax correspondence delivered exclusively through digital channels. The administration maintains system availability schedules with a planned maintenance outage from May 16, 6:30 AM to May 18, 8:00 AM for system updates.

Digital service offerings include the OmaVero portal for comprehensive tax management, AI-powered chatbot assistance, and dedicated service numbers for different taxpayer categories. The administration provides multilingual support through Finnish, Swedish, and English interfaces, with additional language resources available.

The transition represents Finland's broader digitalization strategy for public administration services, eliminating paper-based tax correspondence while maintaining comprehensive taxpayer support through multiple digital channels including social media engagement and online calculators for tax computations.
