Tax Administration Surveys Taxpayers on AI Use in Public Services
Administrative NewsMonday, May 11, 2026

The Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto) has launched a public survey examining the use of artificial intelligence in tax matters, accessible through its official website at vero.fi.

The survey, hosted on the Webropol platform, seeks to gather input from taxpayers and tax professionals on AI implementation within tax administration services. The initiative coincides with ongoing digital transformation efforts at Verohallinto, including the transition to electronic-only correspondence through the Suomi.fi messaging system.

The tax authority continues to expand its digital service offerings through the OmaVero portal, which serves as the primary platform for taxpayer interactions. A scheduled system maintenance window is planned for May 16-18, 2026, requiring taxpayers to complete transactions before the service interruption.

Verohallinto collects approximately 95% of Finland's tax revenues and tax-like payments, representing the most significant income source for public finances. The organization operates through multiple specialized units working in collaboration to maintain efficient tax collection and taxpayer services.
