Finland Now Mandates Digital-Only Business Correspondence from June 2026
Administrative NewsMonday, May 11, 2026

VAT Rates The Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto) will cease traditional postal delivery of tax decisions and correspondence to businesses, associations and other entities from June 1, 2026, requiring all communications to be accessed through the OmaVero electronic portal.

The digitalization initiative affects all business entities including companies, partnerships, associations, foundations and other organizations registered with Finnish tax authorities. Individual taxpayers are not impacted by this change and will continue to receive postal correspondence as before.

From April 14, businesses logging into OmaVero will gain access to Suomi.fi messaging services, which will become the exclusive channel for receiving tax correspondence after the June 1 deadline. The Finnish Tax Administration advises businesses to ensure their OmaVero accounts are properly configured and accessible before the transition date.

The move aligns with Finland's broader digital government strategy and follows similar digitalization initiatives across Nordic tax administrations. This represents a significant shift in Finnish tax administration practice, potentially affecting compliance workflows for businesses that have relied on traditional postal notifications for tax deadlines and decisions.
