Administrative NewsFriday, March 7, 2025

The Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto) has updated its developer portal to provide software developers with enhanced technical interfaces for electronic tax filing, with new services and resources available for the 2025-2026 period.

The authority offers two main API services: Vero API for real-time and case-specific use cases, and ApitamoPKI interface for submitting most tax returns electronically. The platform includes comprehensive record descriptions for each type of report transmitted to the tax authority, along with a certificate service for managing organizational interface rights and certificates.

Key updates include scheduled Teams clinics, a spring collaboration day, and the electronic filing schedule for 2026. The authority provides implementation guides for API deployment and maintains a developer newsletter covering current developments and service updates. Materials from Teams clinics are available through 2025, supporting ongoing collaboration between the tax authority and software development community.

This digital infrastructure enhancement reflects Finland's continued modernization of tax administration services, providing developers with standardized tools for electronic compliance across multiple tax reporting requirements.
