South Africa Raises VAT Registration Threshold to R2.3m, Lifts Carbon Tax Rates

South Africa will increase VAT registration thresholds for the first time since 2009, with compulsory registration rising to R2.3 million effective April 1, 2026. Carbon tax rates also increased 30.51% to R308 per tonne.
