Poland's Ministry of Finance has launched public consultations on technical enhancements for KSeF 2.0, the country's mandatory e-invoicing system, with feedback accepted until 8 May 2026 at konsultacje.ksef@mf.gov.pl.
Enhanced Invoice Functionality
The proposed KSeF 2.0 will expand invoice functionality through business context tracking, where each invoice-related operation becomes a separate recorded event. While invoice data fields remain unchanged, every transaction from issuance through corrections to settlement will generate unique identifiers and metadata sets, improving audit trails and process transparency.
Three-Tier Event Classification
The Ministry proposes dividing invoice-related events into three categories: public events accessible to all invoice-related parties (such as document issuance or corrections), private events visible only to the originating entity (including accounting status and internal markings), and shared events available to selected parties like buyers and sellers (covering payment identifiers and additional classifications).
Fraud Prevention and Control
KSeF 2.0 will introduce capabilities for marking events related to potential irregularities, including fraud attempts and suspicious invoice content. Businesses will gain the ability to assign custom attributes to documents, allowing system customisation to specific business requirements while supporting tax authority oversight functions.
Technical Infrastructure
The upgrade includes enhanced invoice retrieval mechanisms and data synchronisation improvements. The current time-window-based system will expand to incorporate business event changes, ensuring more current and consistent document representation in integrated financial-accounting systems. The Ministry has also announced continued development of the KSeF API for external system communication.
These enhancements represent Poland's ongoing development of its mandatory e-invoicing infrastructure, which became obligatory for most businesses in 2026, positioning the country as a leader in digital VAT compliance systems within the European Union.
