FIRS Urges Large Taxpayers Yet to Complete E-Invoicing Integration

Administrative NewsThursday, November 6, 2025

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has issued a fresh public notice urging large taxpayers that have not yet completed integration with the National E-Invoicing and Electronic Fiscal System (EFS) to comply with the mandate without further delay.

In the notice signed by Executive Chairman Zacch Adedeji, FIRS said the e-invoicing initiative, which commenced on August 1, 2025, has recorded steady progress, with a significant number of large taxpayers successfully completing system integration and commencing live transmission of electronic invoices to the Service.

According to the agency, many businesses met the extended compliance deadline of November 1, 2025, while others are currently at advanced stages of integration. FIRS also noted that service providers continue to engage with taxpayers to facilitate full integration and invoice transmission.

The tax authority commended both taxpayers and service providers for their cooperation and commitment toward the successful rollout of the e-invoicing regime.

However, FIRS stressed that all large taxpayers who are yet to complete integration must take immediate steps to comply with the e-invoice mandate in line with existing tax laws.

“All Large Taxpayers who are yet to complete integration are hereby strongly urged to comply with the e-invoice mandate without further delay,” the notice stated.

The Service reiterated its commitment to supporting taxpayers through stakeholder engagements, technical assistance, and training programmes aimed at ensuring a seamless integration process.

FIRS advised taxpayers requiring additional information or technical support to visit the e-invoicing portal or contact the nearest tax office.

The notice was signed by Zacch Adedeji, PhD, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service.
