Administrative NewsMonday, November 7, 2022

The French tax administration (DGFiP) hosted a two-day hackathon on 6-7 December 2022 in Paris to develop innovative solutions supporting electronic invoicing implementation for France's 3.8 million small and very small enterprises, including micro-entrepreneurs.

The event aimed to create technological solutions that would ease the transition to mandatory electronic invoicing for businesses that typically face greater compliance challenges due to resource constraints. Pre-registration was required until 29 November 2022, with limited places available.

The hackathon forms part of France's broader electronic invoicing reform, which will require B2B electronic invoicing and real-time transmission of invoice data to tax authorities. The reform targets improved VAT compliance and reduced administrative burden through digital transformation of business processes.
