The French Direction générale des Finances publiques (DGFiP) released updated technical specifications for electronic invoicing on March 31, 2022, adding new use cases and expanding the service mode functionality of the public invoicing portal.

The updated specifications build on France's mandatory B2B e-invoicing framework, which requires businesses to issue and receive invoices electronically through certified platforms. The latest version incorporates additional operational scenarios and enhances the portal's service capabilities to better accommodate business requirements.

French tax authorities indicated that further specifications will be completed by the end of the first half of 2022, suggesting ongoing development of the technical framework ahead of the system's full implementation for larger businesses.
